Confirmed – new management
Wednesday, June 11th, 2014Hello! Exciting news – Billboard.com has confirmed that No Doubt has signed onto new management, Azoff MSG Entertainment (AMSGE). From their web site:
“In his second major move of the week, Irving Azoff has signed Gwen Stefani and No Doubt for management, Billboard has learned.
On Tuesday it was announced that Azoff MSG Entertainment (AMSGE) — the joint venture between Azoff Music Management and the Madison Square Garden Company — had acquired a 50 percent stake in Levity Entertainment Group (LEG), a multifaceted firm which includes live comedy venues, television production, talent management, and online digital services.
According to sources, Stefani, 44, and No Doubt, the band she fronts, were being courted by multiple managers before inking with Azoff. The singer and No Doubt recently parted ways with Jim Guerinot’s Rebel Waltz Management, their manager since 1998.
Azoff’s other clients include the Eagles, Christina Aguilera, Steely Dan, Van Halen, Chelsea Handler, and Cassadee Pope, in addition to the many comics signed with Levity.
Stefani will replace Aguilera on the seventh season of NBC’s popular singing competition series “The Voice” in the fall, alongside new coach Pharrell Williams and Voice veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
Stefani has sold nearly 30 million records worldwide with No Doubt and as a solo artist. No Doubt’s five albums have produced No. 1 hits like “Don’t Speak,” “Just a Girl,” “Hey Baby” and “Underneath It All.”
Both No Doubt and Stefani have toured successfully. Stefani’s last solo tour in 2007 grossed $31.5 million and sold 672,289 tickets to 57 shows mostly in North America, according to Billboard Boxscore. In 2009, No Doubt reported $22.6 million and nearly 500,000 attendance from 36 shows in North American arenas and amphitheaters, according to Boxscore.
Stefani has also made her mark in the fashion industry with L.A.M.B., launched in 2003, and Harajuki Lovers, launched in 2005. She also recently launched a ready-to-wear line that started in February and Gx, featuring affordably priced accessories that began in March.”
